I don't write many reviews, but I've been going to Shiges for about 20 years now and their service is still top notch. John will go the distance to help his customers find the best prices and offer his sound advice. It's very difficult to find a good mechanic that's honest and sincere. We'll if you decide to go to Shiges you have found one. I always recommend Shiges to my family and friends so here's a free one for all of you who are reading this now. My safety as well as my families depends on the reliability of the vehicles we drive. So if anyone from Shiges is reading this you have a customer for life!!! To all of the helpers out there... Go and give them a try you won't regret it.

My Avalon is my baby, and this is the only place I go for service.John is upfront and honest; I ask him a billion questions about everything car-related and he gives me answers that are always complete and reasoned.Prices are reasonable, not rock-bottom, but I definitely feel like the service and advice are worth what they charge.

My Acura TL ONLY goes to Shige's. They've done everything from oil changes, brakes and even fixing an electrical component issue the lovely dealer wanted to charge me several extra hundred dollars for. John and his staff are honest and do great work.

They were very helpful and precise. They kept me informed and were friendly. The price wasn't bad either. I found my mechanic!

Have been here several more times in the past couple of years and I continue to recommend Shige's to anyone and everyone. They all agree that he knows his stuff and doesn't gouge you...maybe even underprices! It sounds crazy but I definitely agree with other people's feedback:-I'd go here even if I moved an hour away from the South Bay-I'll only get a "foreign car" (does that mean Japanese?) from now on so I can bring it here to get serviced... actually, thinking of getting John's advice before I buy my next car. :)-He's ridiculously honest and has told me on several occasions what's worth it to fix or not, what parts I could save on by getting from a junk yard instead of new, etc. Seriously, how awesome is this guy??

Shige's was awesome. My Civic was making a noise that concerned me, but two shops said they couldn't hear anything or didn't know what it was. I needed to make a long trip and was concerned, so John offered to keep it overnight and look at it the next day. I then needed a rental, so John drove me to rental car place and gave me a coupon for a great rate. The next day, he found the noise and fixed the problem, and also repaired a couple other problems that he found (and didn't charge me). I had my car back within 24 hours. Shige's was honest, fair, quick and overall, just great.

Had been struggling for more than two weeks with weird noises my Honda civic was making. Took it random local shops who had no clue but promised to charge me exorbitant amounts even before the figured out the problem. Took it over to Shige's today at lunch and John figured out the problem in no time. They really know what they are doing and have in depth expertise.

I heard from word of mouth about this place. My friend's said ask for John Kadowaki he's super cool and easy to haggle with! I got my toyota corrolla 94 serviced here. I got a new radiator, couple of new hoses, timing belt, and spark plugs. I not only got a good price, John gave me a free oil change with filter!Good service and friendly people. John I owe you dinner!
